Product description
A stunning and rare set of two original Mid-Century Modern porcelain vases in the shape of a slender pitcher. This iconic, asymmetrical design is a beautiful example of European retro design from the 1950s and 60s.
The set consists of:
1 Large vase: Apple green glaze with clean vertical white stripes.
1 Small vase: Pastel blue-green glaze with contrasting vertical black lines (the famous 1950s "New Look" pattern).
Provenance and Dating:
Both vases feature the original, authentic blue factory stamp on the bottom with the crown, the founding year 1877, and the letters GDR (German Democratic Republic). This mark was used exclusively by VEB Porzellanmanufactur Lippelsdorf, founded as Wagner & Apel Pozellan (East Germany).
The vases are in excellent vintage condition without chips, cracks, or restorations.
The glaze shines beautifully and the colors are fresh. An absolute eye-catcher for collectors of retro ceramics and lovers of a Mid-Century Modern or eclectic interior!
