Product description
Bronze box made by Max Le Verrier in the 1930s. Diameter 11.5 cm, Diameter 8.5 cm, Height 3 cm. Max Le Verrier (1891–1973) was a French sculptor famous for his Art Deco style works, particularly for his decorative statuettes made of metal, especially bronze and the alloy he himself patented called "Art Cast" or "Régule d'Art." His most successful production was between the 1920s and 1930s, the golden age of Art Deco. Le Verrier is renowned for his elegant and stylized figures that capture movement and dynamism. His typical subjects include Ballerinas and Female Figures, often depicted in acrobatic or dancing poses, in line with the sophisticated aesthetic of the era. Mythological Figures: Such as fauns, centaurs, and amazons. Sporting and Gymnastic Figures. He was a pioneer in integrating light into his sculptures, creating lamps and desk clocks where the bronze (or Art Cast) figure was often combined with frosted or colored glass spheres or discs (his lamps with green or orange spheres are very famous).
