About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Offered is a set of six Dining chairs, a design by the influential Dutch designer Martin Visser. These chairs are a prime example of the functionalism that characterizes Visser's work, combining a minimalist frame with natural materials. The model, presumably the SE06, is a classic in Dutch design history and was produced by 't Spectrum.
The design consists of a sleek, chrome-plated tubular metal frame that forms both the legs and the support for the seat and backrest. The seat and backrest are made of hand-woven cane, which offers a warm and organic contrast to the cool, shiny metal. The combination of materials and the clear, geometric lines are typical of the Mid-Century Modern style.
This set of six chairs is in good condition, consistent with its age and use. The cane has developed a natural patina that contributes to the authentic character of the furniture. The construction of each chair is solid, and the set presents itself as a coherent and original whole.
Thanks to their timeless and understated aesthetic, these chairs fit perfectly into various interior styles, from modern and minimalist to eclectic and vintage. They function perfectly as Dining chairs around a wooden or glass table, where their sculptural design comes into its own.
