Product description
A set of three modular 'Amanta' Armchairs, designed by Mario Bellini for C&B Italia in 1966. This design is an iconic example of mid-century Italian design, known for its innovative use of materials and modular flexibility. The set represents an important moment in the history of C&B Italia, the company that would later become B&B Italia.
Each module consists of a cream-colored Fiberlite shell, a type of fiberglass, resting on four swivel casters. The cushions are upholstered in a mottled textile fabric in shades of gray and beige and are finished with characteristic tufted details. The labels confirm production by C&B Italia and the materials used, including Dacron fiberfill for the padding, which was an advanced choice at the time. The underside of the shell is marked with the year 1972.
The set is in good vintage condition, consistent with its age. The original upholstery and the Fiberlite shells show a character that testifies to their history, while maintaining the structural and aesthetic integrity of the design. The wheels are original and functional.
These versatile 'Amanta' modules can be used individually as Armchairs or combined to form a two-seater or three-seater sofa. Their timeless and sculptural form fits seamlessly into both modern and eclectic interiors, adding a piece of design history to the space.
Fully restored and re-upholstered with new fabric.
