Product description
This is an original painting by the Luxembourgish artist Marie-Thérèse Kolbach (1918–2009), signed and dated 1957. The work depicts an intimate and layered interior view, a characteristic theme within her oeuvre that illustrates her skill in composition and use of color. The painting is executed in oil on canvas and shows a glimpse into another room, creating depth and a homely atmosphere. The artist uses a palette of warm yellow, red, and brown tones, contrasted with cool blue and green. The work is framed in a classic wooden frame with a gold-colored finish and a linen passe-partout, which accentuates the colors of the painting. This piece is an authentic work from the mid-20th century. Canvas 42 x 52 cm. Frame 58 x 68 cm. Once purchased at Galerie Jos. Beffa Attention! Important detail, the canvas has a tear that has been glued shut. It needs to be restored. See the photos. The colors are still vibrant and the composition retains its original strength. The painting is a unique piece, representative of the post-war modernist movement in Luxembourgish art. Due to its size and atmosphere, this framed work is suitable for various interior styles, from classic to modern. It can serve as a subtle focal point in a living room, study, or hallway, adding an element of artistic history and sophistication to the space.
