Product description
English below
Impressive vintage Maria Theresia chandelier from the mid-20th century, presumably manufactured in Bohemia/Czechoslovakia. The chandelier has a generous diameter of approximately 100 cm and is equipped with 15 light points.
Characteristic of this type are the gracefully curved metal arms that are covered with shaped glass strips and finished with glass flower rosettes. The crown is richly provided with cut crystal pendeloques in various shapes, including substantial pear-shaped drops, faceted intermediate pieces, and decorative crystal dishes under the candle-shaped light points.
The richly decorated, symmetrical structure ensures a particularly elegant and monumental appearance. The crystal beautifully catches and refracts the light, creating a very luxurious effect both during the day and in the evening.
The chandelier is in beautiful vintage condition, appropriate for its age. The metal parts and candle sleeves show a natural patina. As far as visible, the crown is very complete and the glass arms and ornaments are well preserved.

Maria Theresa chandelier
This is an exceptionally ornate Maria Theresa chandelier dating from around 1950–1955, designed in the classical Bohemian/Austrian tradition. The design recalls the monumental crystal chandeliers of the eighteenth century, although this style enjoyed a major revival during the post-war period, particularly in Bohemia and Czechoslovakia.
Notable features include the elegantly curved arms, whose metal framework is largely covered with moulded glass strips. Both the arms and the central structure are embellished with numerous glass rosettes, drip pans and decorative elements. The chandelier is hung with an abundance of cut-glass pendeloques: drop- and pear-shaped ornaments that refract the light beautifully and create its characteristic brilliance.
The chandelier is arranged over several tiers and features fifteen candle-shaped light fittings. Its broad, symmetrical composition and outward-curling arms give it a particularly stately appearance. Some of the candle sleeves appear to be original and display an attractive patina consistent with the age of the piece. At the base is a dense cascade of crystal drops, terminating in a large faceted crystal ball.
This is also a generously proportioned and exceptionally richly decorated example, placing it among the more luxurious chandeliers produced during the 1950s, rather than the simpler mass-produced models.
