The sculpture "Wolf" was made by the Kiel sculptor Marcus Meyer. It appeared as Frames of his series "The Last of Their Kind". The wolf is the subject of current, social
Discussions, and at the same time cultural-historical meanings. This sculpture therefore plays an important role in reflecting the Anthropocene and how humans deal with their environment. The wolf is made from the North American Wood Black Walnut. The dark, almost uniform, but warm color
of the wood underlines the
Mystification of the animal.
About the artist: Marcus Meyer has been working as an artist and sculptor since 1993. During this Zeitraum he took part in numerous art exhibitions and installations. (Industralized Being- Simone Menne Gallerie, Polar Bear- Kiel, parts of Gegenward- Kronshagen) His plastic studies primarily deal with the themes of people and nature. As a visionary, he puts together a wooden blank from many individual parts, from which he then uses sculptural work to carve out the expressive form of the subject.
