Marcus van Hoorn
His serigraphs have a very strict graphic design, in which the use of large surfaces predominates, resulting in a suggestive abstracted view of reality. We find vitality and transience as inseparable opposites in the work of Marcus van Hoorn. His paintings are figurative-abstracted, looser in nature, in which the subject is subordinate to form and color.
In addition to commissioned work, he makes designs for sets, art brochures, CD covers, posters and logos, he collaborated on bibliophile editions and illustrated several books. Since the advent of the new media as digital video and editing technology, he has been involved in video projects again since 1998. He also carried out video and screen printing projects in schools and institutes in collaboration with municipalities and institutions. Marcus van Hoorn lives and works in Bergen NH and is a member of the Bergen NH Artists Center and the Dutch Association of Sea Painters.
