Matcel de with painting - the laughing darling 2011, Marcel de With was born September 26, 1964 in Sneek but has lived and worked in Heerenveen all his life. In 1990 he took the course in reproduction photography at the association of light printers and reproduction photographers in Amsterdam.
Painting got into his blood early on, partly due to his father who also painted. Marcel has been painting himself since 2004 and has been successful from the beginning. Both with commissioned and free works. He likes to paint with lots of color, warmth and a cheerful look. He often uses women as his theme, depicting them classically but with a raw side. "It has to look painted raw, in a mixture of history and now" says Marcel.
Marcel uses acrylic paint, spray paint, oil crayons and stencils which he applies mixed on canvas.
