This is an authentic Wassily Chair, originally designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925 and manufactured by Knoll. As one of the most recognizable designs of the 20th century, the Wassily chair revolutionized furniture construction with its use of seamless tubular steel, inspired by the frame of a bicycle. This particular piece is a genuine Knoll production, identified by the characteristic manufacturer's stamp.
Based on the patina and aging of the leather, this chair was manufactured approximately in the 1990s, offering the perfect balance between vintage character and structural longevity.
Condition & Material
The chair is preserved in its original vintage condition, showcasing the high-quality materials expected from a Knoll-produced piece.
Frame: The polished chrome tubular steel frame is in excellent shape, showing only minor surface scratches consistent with its age.
Leather: Features the original thick black leather slings. The leather displays an attractive patina with signs of use and wear on the seat and armrests, which adds to its authentic vintage appeal.
Authenticity: The chair features the official Knoll Studio logo and Marcel Breuer's signature stamped into the base of the frame.
