■ AN IMMATERIAL SCULPTURE BY MARC MICOUD
Les Merciers presents an exceptional piece for discerning interiors. This rectangular coffee table, designed by Marc Micoud in the 1980s, is a prime example of the Hollywood Regency design movement, where luxurious materials meet clean lines.
■ KEY FEATURES OF THE WORK
Structural Design: Made of remarkably thick Altuglas (Lucite), with beveled edges that catch the light.
Double-tiered: Equipped with two glass shelves (138 cm long), ideal for displaying architecture books or ceramics on the lower level.
Authentication: The "Marc Micoud" signature is engraved on the table's apron.
■ CONDITION
In good vintage condition, the material has been professionally restored. The glass shelves are free of major chips. The Altuglas structure shows normal signs of age (superficial micro-scratches). A subtle internal crystallization (slight micro-fissures within the material) is present, typical of thick acrylic pieces from that era, attesting to its age while guaranteeing its perfect structural integrity.
