The Maralunga three-seater sofa, designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina, is an iconic piece of Italian design from the 1970s. This particular example stands out due to its distinctive silhouette and the innovative, adjustable backrests that offer both comfort and a dynamic aesthetic.
The sofa is upholstered in the original fine corduroy in a greyish-green shade, which adds a subtle texture to the design. The construction incorporates the patented mechanism in the backrests, allowing them to be folded in or out independently of one another. The generous proportions and soft, rounded shapes are typical of Magistretti's design language and Cassina's production standards.
The sofa is in a condition consistent with age and use, preserving its original character and functionality.
