Product description
This is an authentic Maralunga two-seat sofa and ottoman, designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina in 1973. An icon of Italian design, the Maralunga is celebrated for its innovative construction and timeless comfort, earning it a Compasso d'Oro award and a place in the MoMA's permanent collection.
The set is distinguished by its patented mechanism, which allows the backrest for each seat to be independently adjusted from a low to a high position, transforming its profile and comfort level. Upholstered in a durable, textured textile in a sophisticated olive green hue, the sofa's generous cushions and enveloping form are supported by a steel frame. This ensemble includes the two-seat sofa and the corresponding matching ottoman, both originating from Italy.
The piece presents in excellent condition, with the original fabric well-maintained and showing minimal signs of use. The structure is sound, and the folding mechanism for the backrests functions correctly. The overall character is one of preserved quality, reflecting careful ownership.
With its versatile functionality and sculptural presence, this Maralunga set is an ideal centerpiece for a modern or eclectic living space. It offers a sophisticated seating solution that combines design history with exceptional comfort, suitable for both formal and relaxed settings.
