MANI-kure about creation process: The piece started by writing/painting emotional feelings freehand as a channel directly into the canvas. It went deep while painting, memories of loss appeared and also the fear of being forgotten.
It's a pretty authentic sentimental piece. The reason why the name came up I think is related to the fear of being forgotten and making art is a great tool to freeze feelings and things in a certain time.
MANI-kure, also known as the brothers Filippo & Lorenzo FIUMANI (IT, 1987, 1989), crossed their artistic path by developing an art language that brings together stencilling and freehand painting. Lorenzo Fiumani is more focused on the stencil world, both on the street and on canvas, while Filippo Fiumani takes a more free approach to canvas, painting with spray paint, acrylic paint and paint sticks, while at the same time keeping his street art spirit alive by pasting posters and also freehand pieces.
Each MANI-kure painting is an original one-off work. They have been purchased by respected art collectors throughout Europe, the US and around the world. They have exhibited internationally (France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Australia, California etc.) under the name FIUMANI, and they have received reviews in several magazines (VICE, No Cure Magazine, Don't Panic, Time Out, etc.) along with other internationally renowned artists (Vhils, Defer, Jim Philipps, Ornamental Conifer, Ozzy Wright etc.). Just google FIUMANI ART and find a range of their work spanning over 10 years.
