Product description
An authentic Shetani sculpture, late 1960s, from the Makonde people of Mozambique/Tanzania. Not a tourist piece. The sculpture is in the Shetani style. A free interpretation of spirits from Makonde mythology. It is carved from black Mpingo (ebony) wood, a heavy, dark wood type. (The sculpture weighs almost 10kg.) The sculpture is in excellent original condition. Without damage. Although not signed, it is made with great craftsmanship.
