Private sellerProduct description
This wall relief is an expressive ceramic work, manufactured by the Austrian company Jaksch. The piece depicts a woman's face in profile, executed in a combination of matte and glazed earthenware, characteristic of the mid-20th century. The mask is made of brown clay, with the face having a natural, matte finish. The headscarf and background are covered with a thick, vibrant majolica glaze in light blue and white tones, creating a strong textural contrast. On the reverse side, there is a sticker commemorating Jaksch's 100th anniversary, dating the work to around 1958, and an impressed maker's mark. The object is in very good condition, consistent with its age and material. The original glaze finish is fully intact and retains its characteristic texture and color. The relief is equipped with a hanging cord on the back and is ready to adorn a wall. With its organic form and artistic appeal, this ceramic mask fits well into an interior with Mid-Century Modern, eclectic, or vintage influences. It functions as a subtle yet intriguing art object in a living room, hallway, or study. Manufactured by Lore Friedrich Gronau
