Product description
A significant sideboard from the 1960s, characterized by a refined design that blends the decorative flair of Art Déco with the elegant lines of mid-century Italian modernism.
The piece stands out for its stunning mahogany burl veneer, featuring deep, sinuous grain patterns arranged in a striking geometric herringbone motif across the doors.
The contoured profile of the frame, rounded corners, and slender legs lend the sideboard a harmonious and sophisticated appearance.
The top surface, made of decorative green glass, is a particularly charming detail; it enhances the piece's elegance while creating a refined color contrast against the warm, dark tones of the mahogany.
The finely crafted brass handles are especially noteworthy, embellishing the five doors with a touch of artisanal artistry.
Brass ferrules at the base of the legs elegantly echo these metallic accents, contributing to the overall aesthetic balance.
The interior layout is both practical and functional: behind the side doors—on both the left and right—there is an internal shelf, while the central door conceals four sturdy drawers, perfect for organizing cutlery, table linens, and other items.
This sideboard possesses a remarkable visual presence, where the richness of the burl wood, the unique green glass top, and the meticulous brass detailing combine to create a piece of great character.
A striking aesthetic statement, it is ideal for an elegant dining room, a sophisticated living area, or an eclectic space where vintage charm can engage with contemporary elements.
Distinguished by its materials, decorative details, and distinct personality, this piece is sure to become the undisputed focal point of any room. It shows normal signs of wear and tear consistent with age and use; the piece has been polished with oil and shellac.
