Product description
Rare large elegant table lamp by Uno & Osten Kristiansson for Luxus Sweden.
In perfect condition. White top (diffuser) in acrylic plastic. Red base in opaline glass.
Bio:
Luxus Sweden (Vittsjö) was founded in 1950 by brothers Uno & Östen Kristiansson. Uno Kristiansson was the older brother and began his career as a furniture designer. He learned the tricks of the trade from his father who had had his own furniture company, Vittsjö Furniture, since 1929. This also explains the frequent use of different types of wood in their designs. Östen Kristiansson was best known for his innovative lighting. His designs were progressive and elegant, often made from natural materials such as wood and opal glass. He created lighting that was both aesthetically pleasing and functional, and his work was highly regarded for the way it captured the essence of Scandinavian design.
