Rare large elegant table lamp by Uno & Östen Kristiansson for Luxus Sweden.
In perfect condition. White top (diffuser) in acrylic plastic. Red base in opaline glass.
Bio:
Luxus Sweden (Vittsjö) was founded in 1950 by the brothers Uno & Östen Kristiansson. Uno Kristiansson was the older brother and began his career as a furniture designer. He learned the tricks of the trade from his father, who had owned his own furniture company, Vittsjö Furniture, since 1929. This also explains the extensive use of various types of wood in their designs. Östen Kristiansson was primarily known for his innovative lighting. His designs were progressive and elegant, often made from natural materials such as wood and opal glass. He created lighting that was both aesthetically pleasing and functional, and his work was highly appreciated for the way it captured the essence of Scandinavian design. Specs:
