This highly ornately designed postmodern floor lamp by Italian lamp maker Lucitalia dates back to the 1980s and is a rare find.
What is striking about this design is the combination of unusual technical details on the one hand and traditional design on the other. The stand consists of three separate elements that together support a standing tube. At the upper end of the long stand is the light fixture. The luminaire is two-piece. It consists of a crescent-shaped lampshade and a handle that acts as a counterweight. The steel lampshade is interrupted by two square openings fitted with opal glass panels. The head is rotatable and asymmetrically mounted so that the lampshade can be moved sideways beside the axis. Depending on the position of the shade, the floor lamp can be used as ceiling or wall lighting. The light can also be adjusted via a dimmer. Through the opal glass, the openings in the shade give off a beautifully soft and warm light (see photos) that complements the total of the rolling shapes and soft bronze brown color.Only very light ( and not noticeable) scratches that go with age.
