Product description
Gouache on paper depicting a village scene situated on the banks of a canal where a boat is moored. Framed under glass: W. 45 cm x H. 36 cm x D. 2 cm. Sight dimensions: W. 30 cm x H. 22 cm. Signed (lower left) by the artist Lucie RIVEL (1910-1995). Born Lucie Hartenstein (née Meyer), she studied under Pierre Jérôme, André Planson, and Claude Schürr at the Académie Julian. She exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants under the name Lucie Rivel-Meyer in the 1950s. Living in Juvisy-sur-Orge (Essonne), she founded the Salon Paris-Sud there. cf.
