Lubomir Tomaszewski (1923-2018) was a Polish-American painter, sculptor, and designer born in Warsaw, Poland. He lived in the United States since 1966. This set was awarded a gold medal at the International Industrial Design Exhibition in Paris in 1963 and received recognition at the National Fair in Poznań in 1964.
The organic shapes and asymmetrical lines of the set reflect the spirit of modernity and elegance characteristic of the 1960s. The New Look style, designed by Tomaszewski, combines aesthetics with functionality, as seen in the refined forms and ergonomic details of this set. Each bears factory-maker’s stamp marks under glaze to base.
