An elegant Second Empire style piece
A charming Louis XV style chest of drawers from the Napoleon III period (second half of the 19th century), veneered in rosewood and richly decorated with floral marquetry. This small three-drawer chest embodies the elegance of Second Empire occasional furniture.
Description
This beautifully crafted piece features a fully curved shape (bent over on all sides) characteristic of the Louis XV style. Each drawer is adorned with a central marquetry medallion depicting stylized floral motifs in scrolls, framed by foliage and flowering branches. The curved sides are also decorated with marquetry panels.

Condition: Very good overall condition. Complete marquetry with no significant losses. Original varnish with a beautiful patina. Intact marble with some natural veining and micro-scratches. Well-preserved gilt bronze mounts. All three drawers slide smoothly. Some normal wear and tear attests to its authenticity.
Use: Perfect as a bedside table or side table in a living room, entryway, or study. Its compact size and pleasing proportions allow it to fit easily into various spaces.
