The Visir was designed by Danish architect Jens Møller Jensen for Louis Poulsen in the 1980s. The design won the prestigious iF Design Award in 1982.
The lamp consists of a large, round outer shade made of lacquered aluminum containing a smaller, round inner shade, connected by four metal rods. This double shade construction creates a unique lighting character: directly, the lamp emits a soft, glare-free beam of light downwards. Pleasant for above a dining table. Indirectly, the light reflects off the inner shade back into the outer shade, creating a warm, diffused glow that atmospherically illuminates the room without harsh shadows.
Condition: Neat vintage condition. Light, superficial scratches that are easy to polish away. No dents, bumps, or other significant damage.
This is the original Louis Poulsen version with a GX24 four-pin fitting for an 18W TC-T compact fluorescent bulb. Such bulbs are still available. Alternatively, you can use standard LED bulbs with a GX24→E27 adapter.
I have three available, all white. This offer concerns one bulb; feel free to contact me if you would like two or three.
