The PH 4/3 table lamp by Louis Poulsen is a beautiful reading lamp, designed by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen. All three shades are made of pressed aluminum, with a white lacquered interior that provides soft, downward, and completely glare-free light. The iconic three-shade system is a design by the Danish Poul Henningsen, who, in collaboration with Louis Poulsen, drew the first PH lamps for an exhibition in Paris between 1925 and 1926. In doing so, he used a scientific perspective, constructing the lamp according to the logarithmic spiral, a mathematical curve commonly found in nature. This ensures a uniform distribution of light across the entire curve of the shade. The numbers on the PH lamps refer to the size of the shades, while the letters are derived from the designer's initials.
