An iconic AJ Royal pendant lamp, designed by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen for the manufacturer Louis Poulsen. This design is a prime example of Scandinavian functionalism, originally created in 1957 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen and has since become a classic in design history.
The lamp is made of metal with a grey lacquered finish on the outside and a white interior for optimal light reflection. Characteristic of the design are the open rings at the top of the dome-shaped shade, which provide soft, diffuse upward lighting, while most of the light is directed downwards. This particular piece is designed for multiple light sources to ensure even and bright illumination.
