Product description
Set of 8 vintage table knives - John Louden & Sons (Sheffield) Description: Follow the 'mix & match' trend on your table with this charming set of 8 vintage table knives (perfect for cheese, dessert, or brunch). They were manufactured in Sheffield, England, by the prestigious firm John Louden & Sons Ltd, probably between the 1930s and 1950s. The blades bear the authentic inscription of the cutler and are made of stainless steel (Stainless). The handles, in a lovely cream color, are made of grained xylonite/celluloid, an old material designed at the time to imitate ivory. Condition (To note): These items are authentic and bear many marks of time that contribute to their retro charm. The handles show surface micro-cracks, age-related crazing (especially on the edges), and color variations (natural yellowing of the material). The stainless steel blades have some dark oxidation spots and micro-scratches from use. The set remains perfectly solid, sound, and functional. • Style: Classic / Shabby Chic / Rustic • Care advice: Hand wash only (absolute prohibition from putting them in the dishwasher to preserve the old material of the handles).
