This is a ceramic vase by the Hungarian artist Livia Gorka, a notable figure in 20th-century European ceramics. The piece is a representative example of her distinctive style, combining sculptural forms with bold graphic decorations, making it a collectible work from the Mid-Century period. Made of ceramic, the vase features an hourglass shape with a sturdy base and a flared neck. The surface is decorated with a three-color enamel finish: an opaque white on the top and base, a deep black in the central section, and vibrant orange vertical stripes that create a strong visual contrast. The artist's signature, "Gorka Livia", is clearly visible on the base, authenticating the work as an original piece from her studio. The overall condition of the vase is good, consistent with its age and history. The finish shows a time-worn patina that attests to its authenticity and vintage character. This piece is not only a functional object but also a sculpture that reflects the aesthetic of post-war Hungarian design. Thanks to its bold color palette and sculptural form, this Livia Gorka vase is an ideal focal point for a sideboard, bookshelf, or console. It integrates perfectly into Mid-Century Modern, eclectic, or minimalist interiors, adding a touch of European art and design history.
