Private sellerProduct description
This work is a lithograph by the Swiss artist Hermann Alfred Sigg (1924-2023), a leading exponent of post-war abstract Art. Titled "Vor dem Start", the print captures the energy and anticipation of a horse race, rendered with an expressive and dynamic style that characterizes the artist's mature production.
Created in 1995, this color lithograph on paper is a limited edition, numbered 121 out of 400, as indicated in pencil by the artist in the lower left. The work is hand-signed and dated by Sigg. The composition is dominated by a palette of cool blues and earthy browns, with accents of orange and white defining the figures of the jockeys. The work is presented in a light wooden frame with protective glass, with total dimensions of approximately 84 cm wide and 59 cm high.
The general condition of the lithograph is very good. The print has been carefully preserved under glass, which has allowed the colors to maintain their vibrancy and the paper its integrity. The signature and numbering are clear and legible, confirming the authenticity and provenance of the edition.
Thanks to its modern style and dynamic subject, this work fits perfectly into a contemporary, minimalist or Scandinavian interior. It can serve as a focal point in a living room, study or office, adding a touch of color and a sense of movement to the space.
