Product description
The lithograph is hand signed and framed. Size including frame is 40x50cm. Print run 258/300. Paulette Snijders-Bremen (1946) studied in Maastricht at the Art Academy and the Jan van Eyck Academy. The artist worked in Germany, Spain, Algeria and in the Netherlands. Her view of life is from the protective western culture, partly determined by her four-year stay in Spain, the struggle for life in the desert country of Algeria and the many trips to exotic places. Her sojourn in the Mediterranean landscape has greatly influenced her artworks. The main driving force in Paulette's work is emotion. Love, anger, restlessness, aggression, warmth and constant need for time run like a thread through every work of art by this Limburg artist. Her creative inspiration is an escape from reality expressed in dream images. Themes are often the depiction of movement, music and myths, but equally the woman who loves, is elusive and transparent in her being. Through the refreshing combination of abstraction/figuration, Paulette's creations are surprisingly more-other than the first impressions that pass the retina. Closer scrutiny always reveals facial deception, dream and illusion....
