Philippe Augé (born in 1935 in France) is a contemporary painter and colorist renowned for his figurative style, which draws on Surrealism and Post-Impressionism.
His work focuses on richly colored still lifes (fruits, flowers) and intimate scenes featuring elegant female figures. His compositions are often lyrical and dreamlike, reminiscent of the Renaissance masters in their treatment of light and form.
Augé is considered an accomplished artist and a talented colorist. He has exhibited successfully internationally (London, Rome, Paris, New York) and has won several prizes and medals. He is listed in art reference books, and his works (paintings and lithographs) are regularly featured in international auctions.
