On the white Limoges porcelain, someone took the time to paint roses. Three stems of mauve and pale pink tea roses, barely open buds, and light, watercolor-style grey-green foliage. The signature "Chris," painted with a brush beneath the bouquet, says it all: this plate is a unique piece, hand-painted by an artist on high-quality white porcelain. The porcelain itself is remarkable. The scalloped rim is entirely covered with a finely molded relief decoration of scrolls and foliage, presenting a luminous whiteness. This type of white-on-white relief decoration is characteristic of Limoges production from the 1950s-1970s, a period when elegance was expressed through the material as much as the decoration. On the reverse side, the green Electra Limoges France stamp confirms its origin and period. The porcelain is luminous, the glaze perfect, with no chips or restoration. With its 24 cm diameter, this plate naturally finds its place in an open display cabinet, hung on a wall, or placed on an easel.
