Product description
SET OF 2 BARSTOOLS | LIGNE ROSET | MARIE-AURORE STIKER-MÉTRAL | LA PLIÉE | 2009
Set of two original La Pliée barstools by Ligne Roset, executed in black lacquered steel. A particularly graphic design in which thin steel plate is formed into a light, rigid construction through laser cutting and folding.
La Pliée originated from research into the possibilities of the bending machine and connecting metal plate parts by a compressed fold. The original chair received a Label VIA in 2008; in 2009, the collection was expanded to include this barstool.
Designer Marie-Aurore Stiker-Métral developed La Pliée during her studies at ENSCI Les Ateliers in Paris. The oblique, constructive lines show a kinship with the work of Jean Prouvé. Stiker-Métral herself explained that the solution first arose technically, but that she then thought of Prouvé and consciously continued this kinship.
Both stools are in good used condition. The black lacquer has superficial scratches and signs of wear, especially on the seats; this is visible in the detail photo. The set measures approximately 102 cm high, 37 cm wide and 46 cm deep per stool; the seat height is approximately 76 cm.
A clear French design in which material, technique and silhouette completely coincide.
