She is a visual artist (born in Rotterdam, 1949) who, after her career as a music teacher, fully dedicated herself to painting. She is known for her travel watercolors, in which she captures the atmosphere of European landscapes with a fast, loose brushwork and bright colors.
Some characteristics of her work and this specific style:
• Locations: She frequently travels through France, Italy, and Spain to paint landscapes, village views, and castles on location. This specific work of the village of Lastours (France) perfectly matches her collection of French village views from, among others, Provence and the Minervois.
• Technique: She uses a transparent and watery watercolor technique to optimally capture the natural Mediterranean light.
• Signature: Her signature in the lower right corner of the painting (visible as "Lidwien Kuster")
