About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is an elegant armchair executed in the characteristic style of Dutch design, reminiscent of Gispen's designs. The chair combines a warm, cognac-brown leather seating area with a sleek, tubular chrome frame. The design is a prime example of modernism, where functionality and aesthetics seamlessly merge.
The construction consists of a sled base frame made of chromed metal, which not only creates a floating effect but also offers subtle resilience for extra comfort. The seat and backrest are upholstered with supple, cognac-brown leather, giving a rich and inviting appearance. The armrests are finished with black plastic caps, a detail that is both practical and stylistically appropriate within the design movement.
The overall condition of the armchair is excellent. The leather is well-maintained and shows a natural suppleness characteristic of quality leather. The chrome frame has retained its original shine, which testifies to the durability of the materials used and the care with which the furniture has been treated.
This armchair is a versatile addition to various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern and industrial to a more eclectic decor. The piece of furniture functions perfectly as a comfortable reading chair in a living room, as a stylish accent in a study, or as a representative seating option in an office environment.
