Saddle leather and brass
As is
A glass disc encircled with brass, covered in saddle leather stitched with colored thread, suspended by a strap that passes through an apparent loop and descends along the wall.
Jacques Adnet directed the Compagnie des Arts Français from 1928 to 1959 and, in the 1950s, developed a whole vocabulary of metal covered in saddle-stitched leather, working with the Hermès workshops: pedestals, lamps, magazine racks, Mirrors. He left publishing in 1959 to direct the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs.
The attribution remains to be confirmed. The leather bears the patina of its age; the piece is sold as is.
