Beautiful and rare Mid - Century rhino statue made of papier maché, filled with straw and covered with brown leather, glass eyes, completely in the style of Liberty of London, circa 1950. This statue has very nice proportions and details, the muscles are beautifully and accurately rendered, the whole bears a very nice age patina. Liberty of London released several leather animals in the 1950s in various sizes, including giraffes, elephants, lions, panthers, rhinos, hippos, dromedaries and many other species. These fantastic figurines have a high collectible value and are highly sought after by collectors.
