About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is the LC6 dining table, an iconic design by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, produced by Cassina. The design, originally presented at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1929, is a prime example of rationalist design, separating the functions of supporting and being supported.
The table has a base of black lacquered steel, inspired by the oval profiles used in aircraft construction to separate the wings of biplanes. The top is made of textured crystal glass and rests on four threaded steel supports, allowing the height to be adjusted from 69 to 74 cm. The dimensions of this specific piece are 225 cm wide and 85 cm deep. This piece was produced in 1974, as documented on the accompanying identity card.
The overall condition of the table is good, consistent with its age and careful use. Its authenticity and provenance are confirmed by the presence of the original Cassina 'Carta d'Identità' and technical documentation, making it a valuable addition for collectors.
With its significant dimensions and architectural appearance, this LC6 table functions as a statement piece in both a dining room and a meeting room. Its timeless design seamlessly fits into modern, industrial, or Bauhaus-inspired interiors.
