Product description
The Larousse du XXe siècle is an iconic six-volume encyclopedia published by Librairie Larousse in Paris under the direction of Paul Augé. This historic series, published between 1928 and 1933, represents a significant moment in French lexicography and the gathering of knowledge in early twentieth-century Europe. Each volume is bound in a dark green cover featuring rich, embossed decorations and gold lettering. The books contain thousands of articles, engravings, maps, and illustrations characteristic of the educational publications of the era. The detailed typography and classic design reflect the high production standards of Maison Larousse. The set is in very good condition, with the structural integrity of the bindings and the clarity of the pages well preserved. The original finish and character of the books bear witness to careful preservation over the years. This encyclopedic series is a valuable addition for collectors of antiquarian books or serves as a refined decorative element in a classic library or study. It offers a tangible connection to the intellectual history of the early twentieth century.
