Willy Daro Stijl – Very Rare Table Lamp – 85 cm – Agate Geode & Brass – Belgium – 1970-1979 This lot features a monumental and extremely rare agate lamp by the Belgian master designer Willy Daro. While most lamps from this period are modestly sized, this is a rare "Grande" model with a total height of no less than 85 cm. The Power of Nature: • The center of this lamp is an enormous natural agate geode weighing 11.2 kg. • The stone is approximately 18 cm thick, creating a spectacular sense of depth and a magnificent crystalline cavity at its center. • Unlike the thinner agate discs more commonly found, this massive geode acts as a substantial sculptural object. Construction and Design: • The lamp is crafted from high-quality solid brass; the base alone weighs 2.5 kg. • The arm features the fluid, organic lines typical of Daro's work, while the brass mirror presents the stone as if it were being offered to the viewer's gaze. • The lamp is equipped with a double socket, ensuring powerful and even lighting of the crystals.
