Origin: Germany, 1950s.
Material: ceramic.
After the war there was a rapidly growing economy in Germany.
Large factories with many workers and machines came up and there was room to set up long production lines with kilns.
This allowed large series of ceramics to be made.
As the economy developed rapidly and more money became available as a result, designers had more room for their own input and began to experiment with their designs and techniques.
People put the liquid white or colored clay into molds, after which it hardened.
Designers then applied a variety of glazes, creating an incredibly wide range of colors and appearances.
