Characteristic and entirely handmade ceramic vase from the historic pottery city of Safi, Morocco. This authentic piece dates from the mid-century period (circa 1950-1970). The vase is beautifully decorated all around with traditional, geometric Berber patterns in ochre yellow, deep brown, and black. The object features a beautiful high-gloss glaze and is in neat vintage condition. The underside bears the original, handwritten signature: 'SAFI' and 'Ibna Idriss' (Arabic for: The sons of Idriss). This confirms that the vase originates from the respected family workshop on the famous Colline des Potiers in Safi.
