About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This large vintage tapestry by Jules Pansu depicts a gallant Rococo-style scene, capturing the elegance and romance of a bygone era. The work stands out for its rich figurative composition, depicting figures in period dress immersed in a bucolic landscape, making it a piece of great historical and decorative appeal.
Crafted in fabric with a detailed weaving technique, the tapestry measures 200 centimeters wide and 150 centimeters high. The color palette is dominated by warm, earthy tones, including beige, brown, and green, which blend harmoniously to create depth and texture. The original label on the back confirms its authenticity and provenance, certifying production by the renowned French manufacturer Jules Pansu.
The overall condition is good, with signs of aging that add character and authenticity to the piece. The structure is solid, and the colors retain their original vibrancy, a testament to the quality of the materials and workmanship.
Note for international buyers: An identical model is currently listed on prestigious luxury design platforms like 1stDibs for over €1,900. Offered here at a great collector's price. Due to its large size and rigid wooden frame, shipping arrangements and costs must be discussed before purchase, or local pickup can be arranged.
