Product description
Hand made Vintage Italian Faience Lattice Basket with Floral Lid
This striking mid-20th-century decorative basket is crafted in glazed Italian faience and showcases an elegant openwork lattice design inspired by traditional woven forms. With an impressive diameter of approximately 23 cm, it was created as a statement interior piece or a bonbon dish.
The domed lid is beautifully adorned with hand-modeled, polychrome flowers, each individually shaped and painted, giving the piece a refined yet romantic character. Inside, a hand-painted floral medallion provides a decorative detail visible only when opened, highlighting the quality and thoughtfulness of its design.
The softly toned glaze and natural age-related crazing confirm its authentic vintage character and artisanal production. Such pieces were traditionally used as decorative baskets for sweets, dried flowers, or treasured objects and today remain highly sought after for classic, cottage, and European-inspired interiors.
Elegant, sculptural, and timeless, this basket works equally well as a centerpiece, a display cabinet highlight, or a refined accent on a console or sideboard.
