Signed Pugi Brutalist Ceramic Pitcher / Sculptural Vase – Vallauris / Monaco – 1970s
A magnificent large sculptural ceramic pitcher signed Pugi, produced during the 1970s and associated with the ceramic tradition of Vallauris / Monaco.
This striking piece combines a heavily textured volcanic black surface with a vivid hand-glazed red panel enhanced by stylised floral decoration in turquoise, yellow and white. The turquoise glazed interior and expressive sculptural handle complete this bold Brutalist design.
Its generous size, rich texture and strong architectural silhouette make it an outstanding decorative object, equally at home in Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist or contemporary interiors.
