Product description
A striking large-scale figurative sculpture from Belgium, dating from the 1970s. Hand-carved from solid oak, the sculpture depicts an elongated human figure with a contemplative expression, combining expressive facial features with flowing, almost abstract forms. The tall, slender composition retains the natural character of the wood, with beautifully carved details gradually emerging from the original tree trunk. The warm honey-colored oak, expressive grain and naturally aged patina give the work a wonderful sense of depth and authenticity. Mounted on a contrasting wooden base, this highly decorative sculpture has a strong, almost monumental presence. A distinctive example of figurative wood carving, balancing traditional craftsmanship with a modernist sculptural language. Condition Good condition, with light signs of wear consistent with age and use. The solid oak displays natural age-related cracks and a beautiful warm patina. Details Artist: Unknown Origin: Belgium Period: 1970s Material: Solid oak Technique: Hand-carved Style: Figurative / Modernist / Organic Sculpture Dimensions H 150 x W 28 x D 23 cm
