Product description
Beautiful large bowl or fruit bowl, probably the base of a tureen, in fine earthenware type 'terre de fer', produced by the HB CM (Hippolyte Boulenger Creil Montereau) Choisy-le-Roi factory, Elisabeth model, early 20th century, years 1925-1935. Round shape resting on a small foot, decorated with a frieze of daisies and geometric patterns in transfer print, hand-enhanced in black, green, and orange tones. Side handles in the shape of lion heads holding a ring, a classic decorative element inspired by 19th-century models, here in a sober and elegant version.
Diameter 23.5cm, width 30cm with handles, height 10.5cm. Very good general condition with slight traces of use and patina, noting a small enamel chip on a handle ring as well as a manufacturing defect, an enamel defect, on an outer rim, discreet, slight patina on rims and interior, discreet. Approximately 1kg.
