Product description
Imposing ceramic vase, art craftsmanship, vintage enameled, from the 1950s-1970s, signature to be identified under the base "LD" "ID", probably from a European workshop, in a modernist spirit evoking certain Belgian, Italian or French productions of the second half of the 20th century. Elongated ovoid shape, resting on a small raised circular foot. Remarkable architectural decor composed of four wide alternating vertical bands. Two sides are covered with a deep metallic black enamel while the other two are structured by a network of geometric reliefs evoking a stained glass window or a mosaic, enhanced with blood red, glacier blue and pale yellow enamels with some shades of green. The whole offers a spectacular decorative presence and demonstrates real technical mastery in the work of enamels and reliefs. Very beautiful unique piece.
Height 36.5 cm, maximum diameter approximately 18 to 19 cm. Very good general condition, no notable defects on the outside; only a few small enamel defects are visible on the inside. As a precaution, I advise against its use with water. The vase is perfectly stable but its relatively narrow foot associated with its significant weight suggests placing it on a secure support not easily exposed to shocks. Weight approximately 4 to 5 kg.
