Product description
Large Model 6688 ‘No Neon’ Wall or Table Lamps by Olle Andersson for Boréns, Sweden, 1980s
Rare pair of large model 6688 ‘No Neon’ lamps, designed by Olle Andersson for Boréns in Sweden during the 1980s. These versatile lamps can be mounted on the wall or used as sculptural table lamps. The bold circular form and geometric arrangement of the light sources create a striking postmodern composition and an atmospheric interplay of light and shadow.
This is the larger and considerably rarer version of the design, in contrast to the smaller model 6686. Model 6688 is becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly as an original pair. Both lamps retain their original manufacturer’s labels.
One lamp is in excellent condition, with practically no signs of use. The other remains in very good condition, showing only occasional minor paint loss and light traces of age and use. Altogether, this is a beautifully preserved and increasingly rare pair of large Swedish design lamps.
