About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
Elegant and finely crafted Italian ceramic sculpture depicting a seated Collie dog, produced in Italy circa 1970s. The figure is naturalistically modeled with balanced proportions and refined detailing, from the expressive facial features to the flowing texture of the fur. The hand-applied glaze presents warm shades of golden brown and cream, beautifully accentuating the dog’s coat and adding depth and luminosity to the surface.
The sculptural presence and generous scale make this piece both decorative and characterful, reflecting the strong Italian tradition of ceramic animal figures of the mid-to-late 20th century. A charming and collectible object, ideal as a statement accent in a living space, library, or entryway. The sculpture is in very good vintage condition, with only slight signs of age and use consistent with its period. It is marked Made in Italy on the underside
