With its beautiful proportions and warm-toned glaze, this large oven dish fully belongs to the table aesthetic of the 1960s-1970s, when domestic ceramics gradually abandoned strict white dinnerware for freer forms and earth-inspired colors. Its rectangular silhouette is softened by a generously wavy edge, giving it almost the appearance of a large shallow dish. The glaze showcases a superb transition of tones, from the bright cream of the center to the honey-brown of the edges, while the exterior features a deep, glossy brown. The slight variations and flecks in the glaze fully contribute to the character of this ceramic piece. With a striking presence and dimensions of approximately 34 × 19 cm, it remains perfectly suited for its initial use while naturally finding its place today in a kitchen or on a table where vintage ceramics are often displayed.
